Rain, rain and more rain. That was the story of the two Wednesday qualifying sessions. It had been wet on and off throughout the day but, at 7.00pm, the start of the first two hour qualifying session, it appeared to be drying out. However, as the first cars explored the track the rain started again and that was to be the story of the evening.
For the Corvette Racing team that really meant little running. Oliver, Olivier and Jan in the #64 Compuware Corvette C6.R completed their required minimum of nine laps, three laps each.
"It was a frustrating session for us all in the Corvette team as we would have really liked some dry running." Oliver confirmed. "The laps that we compeleted for qualification were the minimum we needed to do and, given the conditions, we just used them to explore the circuit, lap times were irrelevant."
The two sessions on Thursday will therefore be important for the team and hopefully will remain dry. The forecast for the remaining days and weekend is dry and hot! There will be a report on Thursday's qualifying posted here on Friday morning.
