It was a tremendous qualifying session at Mosport.  The threatening rain held off and Oliver Gavin recorded a 1m 13.857s lap to secure GT1 pole for himself and Olivier Beretta.  It was close behind with Ron Fellows, guesting in the No.33 white Corvette C6.R just 0.148 seconds behind at 1m 14.005s.  Johnny O'Connell was third in class with a 1m 14.097s lap.

Olly said "It's always great to qualify at Mosport with new tyres, low fuel and so many high speed corners.  You always feel challenged by the track and by the competition.  With top drivers like Ron and Johnny to race against I'm pleased I got the pole.  I was surprised by how quickly the tyres came in.  I made a little bit of a mistake in turn 5 and thought I could have got a little more out of it.  I think everywhere else I wrung the car's neck and got the maximum out of it."
