Oliver Gavin will compete in this weekend's Paris Marathon and is keen to record a fast time over the 42.195Km City of Paris course which stretches from the Champs Elysees around many of the famous sights and landmarks on the North bank of the Seine, finishing close to where they started. The route takes in the Place de la Concorde, the Rue de Rivoli, the Bastille, the Bois de Vincennes, the Quais de Seine, the Trocadero and the Bois de Bologne.
The race starts at 08.45 local time on Sunday (10th April). Last year 30,000 runners took part watched by a crowd in excess of 150,000! This year the number of entrants has been extended to 35,000! Oliver is one of 2,800 British entrants, the largest contingency from a country other than hosts France.
Oliver will be wearing the number 14372 and looking to finish around the 3 hour 20 minute mark. Watch out for him live on television in the UK on Eurosport 2 between 07.30 and 10.15!
Recorded highlights of the race will be shown in the USA and Canada on 17th April at 4.00 pm on the Out Door Life Network (ODLN).
