"We've had a nice little 4 week summer break since Portland but it's great to be back racing again," Oliver confirmed ahead of the Road America 500. The American Le Mans Series resumes this weekend at one of America's best loved road courses at Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. The 4.048 mile, 14 turn circuit is the longest visited by the ALMS. It has much in common with the circuit at Le Mans itself, having long straights and winding it's way through some fabulous countryside.
"This is one of my favourite events," Oliver continued. "It's held on one of the great circuits, I love it." The GT1 battle is set to continue between Corvette & Aston Martin and Oliver is relishing the task ahead. "There has alot been said about relative performance and adjustments designed to make things more competitive but my job is to deliver out on track and I can't wait for the racing to start again."
The 'Ollies' (Gavin & Beretta) have won the GT1 class at the Road America 500 for the last two years, last year crossing the line ahead of team mates Ron Fellows & Johnny O'Connell by just 0.142 seconds!
The race takes place on Sunday, 20th August starting at 2.00 pm local time (8.00 pm UK time) and can be seen live in the UK on Motors TV (satellite channel 413).
