The two Compuware Corvette C6.Rs ended the qualifying sessions quickest and third fastest in GT1. Jan Magnussen in the No 63 car went out at the start of the fourth session and, with optimum conditions for fast times, set a 3m 47.668s lap to grab GT1 pole. The Saleen of Christophe Bouchut was also very quick and finished a tenth of a second behind in 3m 47.761s. Oliver in the No 64 Corvette recorded a lap of 3m 48.539 to keep the Prodrive Aston Martins back in fourth and fifth on the grid.
"It's great that we are in front of the Astons on the grid but we have to bear in mind that it is a long tough race to come", said Oliver. "I'm pleased to say that our car feels really good and that Olivier, Max and I all feel comfortable and are looking forward to the battle ahead! Qualifying was a good result for Corvette in our quest to return to the top step of the class podium in 2008."
