The final round of the 2007 American Le Mans Series takes place this weekend at Laguna Seca Raceway, California. This is a 4 hour race and Oliver Gavin and Olivier Beretta will be seeking their ninth ALMS GT1 victory of the season. Their win two weeks ago at Petit Le Mans with third driver Max Papis means that the two 'Ollies' have a unassailable lead in the 2007 ALMS GT1 Driver's Championship but they will still be looking to celebrate their third successive title with another win!
"It would be great to end another ALMS season with a win." Oliver confirmed. "To secure a third straight Driver's Championship is brilliant and, even though we haven't had the competition from other teams, the fight between the crews of the No.3 and No.4 Corvette's has been season long. The fact that the racing has always been close is testament to the professionalism, engineering and skills of Corvette Racing. I guess the championship makes up a little for the disappointing Le Mans for the team of the No.64 car."
The race takes place on Saturday, 20th October, starting at 2.43 pm local time (10.43 pm UK time). The race will be shown live in the UK on Motors TV starting at 10.30 pm.
Although this is the last race in the ALMS this year, Oliver has one more event on the schedule, driving the Luc Alphand Corvette C6.R in the last round of the Le Mans Series at Interlagos, Brazil on 10th/11th November.
